Minimalist AI Privacy Policy

Minimalist AI is developed by Luo Hanjun and is designed to run compatible AI models on the user's device.

Local processing and optional services

The app contains no advertising, analytics, remote logging, cloud model API or Minimalist AI account system. Chat and model features do not upload your content to the developer. If you voluntarily email the developer, the developer receives the message and attachments you choose to send. Optional purchases and other external actions use the services described below.

On-device chat and model content

For chat and model features, chats, prompts, model output, selected files, attachment previews and extracted text, models, and settings are processed and stored locally in the app container. The app does not upload this chat or model content to the developer. Copies you choose to export or share, optional email attachments and system backups are handled separately by their corresponding services.

Optional model downloads

The app connects to the model source shown in the interface only when the user explicitly starts a recommended download. Current recommended files are hosted by Hugging Face. The host and network provider may process ordinary network information, such as IP address and request metadata, under their own policies. Minimalist AI does not receive that information from the host.

Photos and files

You choose which photos and files to provide through Apple's system pickers, paste, or drag and drop. Chat attachments are processed locally. The separate invitation form lets you choose photos and files to include in an email to the developer; these are not limited to local processing once you send them. The app does not automatically attach your chats, chat attachments or models to that email.

Optional one-time support

The six support options use Apple's StoreKit as voluntary, repeatable, consumable one-time purchases. They create no subscription and do not unlock, restrict or change any app feature. Apple handles payment; the app receives product and transaction information to show availability and purchase status. Apple's payment and App Store services handle information under their own terms and privacy policies.

Optional invitation and support email

The invitation form creates a separate draft addressed To LuoHanjun@u.nus.edu, with Cc LuoHanjunElvis@gmail.com. Selected attachments total at most 25 MiB. You confirm sending in Apple's mail composer or your chosen email app; Minimalist AI does not send the message automatically, operate its own sending server or process this draft with an AI model.

Email delivery, storage and draft synchronization use your email service. Saving a draft in Mail may synchronize its contents under that service's settings before you send it. A handoff to the mail system does not guarantee delivery. The mailto fallback does not carry attachments; you can export them and add them separately in your email app.

On the developer's side, Luo Hanjun personally handles invitation, collaboration and problem-report emails and their attachments. They are used only to reply, investigate reported problems and communicate about collaboration, not for advertising, user profiling or AI training. Please do not include passwords, model files, confidential documents or unrelated private chats.

Retention and deletion

You can delete models in Settings and chats in Local History. On iOS and iPadOS, Delete App normally removes local app data, while Offload App keeps documents and data. On Mac, deleting the application may leave data behind. Normal updates usually preserve local data but are not a substitute for backups.

System-managed device backups may include app data according to your Apple device settings. Downloadable model and partial-download directories are excluded from backup by the app. Files you export or share are handled by the destination you choose. Deleting the app or its data does not also delete exported or shared copies or existing backups; manage those separately at their destinations.

You can request deletion of correspondence and attachments held by the developer by emailing LuoHanjunElvis@gmail.com. The developer will delete those copies unless they must be retained under a collaboration agreement or applicable law. Deleting an app draft, chat or the app itself does not delete messages already sent, copies held by recipients, or drafts and backups held by email services. Those services manage their copies under their own settings and policies.

Children

Minimalist AI is a general-purpose tool and is not directed specifically to children. Model-generated content can be inaccurate or inappropriate; a parent or guardian should supervise use where appropriate.

This website

This static support site has no advertising, analytics scripts, tracking cookies or contact form. GitHub Pages hosts the site and may process ordinary connection information under GitHub's privacy statement. Voluntary support emails are handled as described in the email and deletion sections above.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, its effective date will be updated. Questions or requests to delete your support correspondence can be sent to LuoHanjunElvis@gmail.com. See also the Support page.
